Gluten Free Product Reviews Cassette Tape

This is my first installment of short gluten free product reviews, where I briefly share my thoughts on gluten-free products I’ve tried. Enjoy!

YUMMY

Catelli Gluten Free Pasta
It’s pretty hard to tell that this pasta is actually gluten-free. I promise if you serve this to people, they probably won’t even know. It’s made of a blend of white rice, brown rice, corn, and quinoa flours. It has a soft texture, but it neither falls apart or is too starchy. And when it’s on sale, the price is pretty damn good. Yummy Rating: 5/5

TruRoots Ancient Grains Penne
Okay, so Catelli’s pasta is good, but if you like the taste of whole grains, like me, then you’ll totally love this pasta. It’s made up of a blend organic quinoa, amaranth, and brown rice. Its firm texture makes it easy to get al dente just right. It’s pretty expensive, but I got a giant bag at Costco for a great price! (Oh, and it’s even made in Italy!) Yummy Rating: 5/5

KINDA YUMMY

Jovial Gluten Free Fig Fruit Filled Organic Cookies
I totally miss Fig Newtons, so I was excited to try these. Unfortunately, they weren’t amazing. There wasn’t as much filling as what is shown on the package, and they were kinda crumbly, but they were still pretty tasty. I liked how the cookies were individually wrapped in packs of two. This would be a good snack to take with you on-the-go. Yummy Rating: 3/5

NOT-SO-YUMMY

Glutino Strawberry Toaster Pastry
I wanted a bad treat, and I miss PopTarts, so I finally broke down and bought these. Unfortunately, these pastries failed to satisfy my craving for something evil. There wasn’t enough strawberry filling, and it lacked sweetness. There was too much pastry, which was very dry. I think some icing would have made these a little bit better. Yummy Rating: 2/5
